Required text and other materials for 2010.  The items listed below are sold as a "bundle" at the College bookstore and will be used both quarters:

  • Anatomy and Physiology, 3rd edition, 2007, by Elaine N. Marieb.  Benjamin Cummings, New York.
  • Anatomy and Physiology Place CD with subscription to Anatomy and Physiology Place website
  • InterActive Physiology 10 System Suite CD-ROM with the following programs: Muscular System, Nervous System I, Nervous System II, Cardiovascular System, Endocrine System, Respiratory System, Urinary System, Fluid, Electrolyte, & Acid/Base Balance, Immune and Digestive System.
  • PAL CD-ROM with subscription to Website

(Students using the 2nd edition of the text can also use older IP 9 or 8 System CDs. The AP Place subscription and CD is included free with new text books but can be purchased separately from Benjamin Cummings (or perhaps students could share.)  PAL is "Practice Anatomy Lab" and available separately from Benjamin Cummings as a CD or online subscription.)

  • H-ITT TX3100 radio frequency transmitter.  If you can’t afford this, I can loan you an infrared transmitter.  The radio transmitter is easier to use and more accurate but the loaner will also work.  We use these for “pop quizzes.”

  • A battery for your transmitter.  I know a 9-volt battery works for the infrared transmitters.  I am not sure what battery works for the radio transmitters.

Other required items:

  • A box of colored pencils.
  • A red/blue colored pencil (these have red lead on one end and blue lead on the other (no eraser.)
  • Several regular pencils with clean erasers.
  • A flat folder for turning in lab assignments.
  • Play-Dough, the typical little 4-packs will work, be sure you have red and blue colors

Optional (but recommended by past students) is Cliffs Quick Review for Anatomy and Physiology or some other Anatomy/Physiology outline series. Some students also like flash cards.  There are lots of different study aids.
