Welcome to Biology 208, Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology 1
This is the first quarter of a two quarter sequence of courses.

For most college courses, students should expect to spend a minimum of two hours of home study for every hour of class time.  College science courses demand even more home study.  This course is no exception. You can not learn this material at the last minute.  Stay current!

Classes begin Tuesday, January 8, 2008.  There will be lab the first week. Students in Monday afternoon lab need to shift to Wednesday or Thursday afternoon this week and during the two weeks when there are Monday holidays. Parts of Chapter 1 will be tested in lab during week two.  For details, see the Winter ’08 Course Calendar.

I provide a variety of “opportunities” (including “pop quizzes”) for you to gain points in this course. If you don’t come to class, you will miss the opportunities.  Every absence will hurt your grade.

Winter '08 Course Calendar (This calendar is created for the day classes.  The evening class will follow this calendar on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.)

We will do Chapter 1 the first week of winter quarter. During the second week, we will do the assigned parts of Chapter 3 and begin Chapter 4. We move through the material quickly.  Do not get behind.

I have written the following study sheets to help you through the material for each chapter:
