Welding Technology Program Outcomes
After successfully completing the Welding Technology requirements, students will:
1. Work Safely in and around welding operations.
2. Demonstrate appropriate Workplace Behaviors.
3. Demonstrate skills and knowledge relevant to the Industry in Technical Proficiency:
A. Identify, compute, and apply measurements from blueprints.
B. Set up and dial in welding, cutting, and gouging equipment from memory and an understanding of process controls.
C. Prepare joints and produce welds in compliance with AWS Welding Procedure Specification documents.
D. Evaluate weld compliance with acceptance criteria.
E. Weld to WABO standards in all positions on:
Structural Option - plate with the Shielded Metal Arc Welding or Flux-Cored Arc Welding process.
Construction Option - plate with the Shielded Metal Arc Welding or Flux-Cored Arc Welding process.
Pipe Welding Option - pipe with the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding or Shielded Metal Arc Welding process.
4. Demonstrate an awareness of differing perspectives, ethical behavior, and health and wellness issues.
