Dan JohnsonABOUT DAN JOHNSON
Dan Johnson is the former Assistant Director of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Center and an educator of 30 years in the Washington State Community College System. He developed a passion for conveying the untold story of African Americans and the associations they provided to his early “Jim Crow” experiences in Houston, Texas. Citing the omission of this information in the mainstream American History curriculum, Johnson has taught classes and conducted forums to share the information he learned late in life to provide a greater sense of pride in the contributions of African Americans and the impact their experiences have on today’s society.
