Rulemaking Hearing
Notice of Rulemaking Hearing
A virtual hearing will be held on January 27, 2025 from 12:15-1:00pm, for the purpose of receiving comments from the public on proposed revisions to rules for inclusion in the Washington Administrative Code. The rule is titled chapter 132B-125 WAC, Student Conduct Code.
The purpose of this hearing is for members of the public to provide comment and input on the proposed rules. These proposed revisions are necessary to comply with the United States Department of Education’s final rule released on April 19, 2024, to implement Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. This rule requires institutions of higher education to adopt student disciplinary procedures addressing sex discrimination, including sex-based harassment. In addition to complying with the new final rule, Grays Harbor College is updating its student conduct code to bring it into compliance with the antihazing provision of SBH [2SHB] 1751 and RCW 28B.10.900 - 28B.10.902 and to align procedures with the Administrative Procedure Act under chapter 34.05 RCW. The proposed rules are being adopted pursuant to the Board of Trustee’s authority under RCW 28B.50.140(13).
The hearing will be held on January 27, 2025 from 12:15-1:00pm. The hearing will be conducted using a virtual format via Zoom; please email Ja’Shonae Cooks at jashonae.cooks@ghc.edu for the link.
Persons wishing to submit written comments may send them to Ja’Shonae Cooks at jashonae.cooks@ghc.edu, before January 27, 2025 at 5:00 pm.
