Medical Reserve Parking Application

The location of Grays Harbor College is very special; however, it is on a hill.  This creates some drawbacks in terms of accessibility.  In an effort to deal with this, we have reserved a large portion of our upper parking lot for students who would suffer a medical threat if they were subject to climbing the steps from our lower parking lots.

Please Note:  In general, Medical Reserve is for temporary conditions and must be renewed each quarter.  Medical Reserve parking passes must be picked up from Accessibility Services each quarter.  Persons needing permanent accessible parking can apply for a “State Disabled Parking Permit” (Students with a Valid state permit in their name are automatically eligible to use “Medical Reserve Parking.)

Steps to Apply

The medical reserve parking application consists of two required steps:

  1. Complete and submit an Application for Medical Reserve Parking

  2. Provide a letter or prescription from your primary care physician, stating the following:

    • Patient’s Name and Date of Birth
    • Diagnosis (include ICD-9-CM codes)
    • Date of last visit
    • Description of Mobility Impairment (is condition temporary or permanent?)
    • Anticipated Duration of Impairment (If temporary, anticipated length of recovery)
    • Pregnancy: When is the applicant due?

All letters or prescription paper must be submitted on the official letterhead of the primary care physician describing the mobility impairment. The letter should be dated, signed, include the name, title, contact information and professional credentials. Accessibility Services (AS) will make the determination if the student qualifies for a Medical Reserve Parking Permit.
