300 Students Visit Grays Harbor College for FBLA Conference
Posted on: Dec, 11, 2024
Earlier this quarter, Grays Harbor College hosted the Capital Region Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) 2024 Fall Conference. This event brought over 300 high school and middle school students from multiple counties to Grays Harbor College.
In addition to tours of GHC’s campus and facilities, the students were able to participate in workshops facilitated by the business, nursing, automotive, diesel, welding, and carpentry programs. Students were able to learn about these programs and try out new skills.
GHC students and employees from student services, student life, and athletics helped guide students around campus and hosted activities for them during lunch.
GHC’s Career and Technical Education Coordinator Ariel Finfrock was excited by the success of the event. "The teaching and learning that I witnessed in the nursing lab where GHC students demonstrated their knowledge and coached FBLA members as they tried out new skills was truly inspiring!" said Finfrock.
FBLA will return to GHC for their Winter Conference on January 31, 2025, which will feature more workshops and tours, as well as student competitions for which they will need many judges. If you would like to participate in the winter event, please contact Ariel Finfrock at 360-538-2535 or by email at ariel.finfrock@ghc.edu.
