The Washington State Department of Commerce recently announced the recipients of $72.6 million in grants for community clean projects across the state.  Grays Harbor College has been awarded over $500,000 in funding through Washington’s Climate Commitment Act.

These funds will be used to install solar panels on the new tulalW Student Center on the main campus of GHC.  The solar energy produced will help power the new building, and if surplus energy is produced, offset GHC’s utility usage.

President of GHC, Dr. Carli Schiffner is excited by the energy grant, “By installing solar panels on the new tulalW Student Center, GHC is able to build on our commitment to sustainability. We are excited about this opportunity and look forward to serving as an example of what can be done with natural resources in our community.”
