The Grays Harbor Symphony has commissioned music and an accompanying film from GHC alum and composer Cathryn S. Davis called Celebrating Grays Harbor History, which will be screened at the Bishop Center for Performing Arts on June 8, 2025, alongside live music played by the orchestra.

The closing section of the film provides a chance for community involvement. The public is invited to submit videos, photography, and other artwork that showcases, “Why You Love Grays Harbor.” Submissions could include photos of a favorite hamburger spot, spotlights on community organizations, photos of interesting architecture, artwork representing school memories, videos showcasing local traditions, sports and parades – anything that represents “Why You Love Grays Harbor.”

Those interested in participating in the project are encouraged to submit high resolution videos, digital photos (at least 300 dpi or higher, TIFF or jpeg), or artwork to whywelovegraysharborsubmissions.com. The deadline to submit pieces for consideration is July 1, 2024. Those who submit pieces that are selected to be in the film will be given credit.
