Each year, Grays Harbor College recognizes students with the highest grade point average (GPA) in the graduating class. Tyler Bates is one of the Top Scholars in the Class of 2024, graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Tyler graduated from Aberdeen High School and earned an Associate of Science in Biology from GHC. Outside of academics, Tyler excelled in extracurricular activities, including swimming and track and field.

Looking ahead to the fall, Tyler plans to pursue his passions at the University of Montana, where he will study Pre-medical Science and compete for their track team.

When reflecting on his time at GHC, Tyler expressed gratitude for his parents and shared advice for future students: "Learn from your mistakes and never let them define you."
