Opportunity Grant (OPG)
Available to low-income adults at or below 200% of the poverty level who are pursuing an approved high-wage high-demand program of study. Students may receive funds to cover tuition and mandatory fees up to 45 credits and have a three-year window in which to utilize the program. All pathways approved under the OPG provide a minimum beginning wage of $16.28 per hour.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must complete an official Workforce funding application.
- Must be a currently enrolled GHC student.
- Be enrolled in an approved educational pathway.
- Must be a WA state resident as defined by RCW 28B.15.012.
- Have financial aid need based on methodology from the FAFSA (remaining/unmet need).
- Have and maintain a 2.00 gpa.
- Must apply for FAFSA/WAFSA within the first quarter of enrollment into OPG.
- Have income at or below 200% of the poverty level:

*Tuition assistance is limited to 45 total lifetime credits throughout all WA State Community Colleges.
*Receipts for supports are required for the entire amount awarded to maintain eligibility.
