Computer Lab Assistant

Summary

  • Perform lab maintenance and assistance, which will include three major functions:
  • Help Students
  • Keep labs clean, stocked and in working order
  • Uphold the “law of the labs” – making sure privileges and equipment are not abused

Typical Duties

Assist students using the computer labs with questions associated with school computers.  Most questions relate to software issues involving Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.  Will also include questions pertaining to the general operation of computers: saving a file, finding a file, printing, etc.

 

Employee Qualifications

  • Strong social skills
  • General understanding of computer software and hardware
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, the internet, PowerPoint
  • Willingness to assist students with computer issues
  • BTECH 102 (Formerly CIS102) enrollment or completion (Passed with a B or higher)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must exercise maturity in dealing with peers and confidential information
  • Able to work independently and follow directions
  • Reliable
